A rule-based structural scan for early-stage business ideas
BIKS is a work-in-progress prototype and framework for pressure-testing the commercial structure behind an early-stage business idea.
It does not start by asking users to write out or pitch their idea. Instead, it uses context choices and structured questions to analyse the assumptions behind the idea: revenue, adoption, control, execution, and strategic focus.
That constraint is deliberate. Early ideas can sound convincing when they are explained well. BIKS tries to look past the pitch and inspects whether the underlying assumptions reinforce each other or contradict each other.

How the scan works
SELECT CONTEXT
The user selects business type, industry, and current stage. These fields shape interpretation, but do not replace the core scan or change the question list.
ANSWER STRUCTURED QUESTIONS
The scan uses fixed questions rather than a free-text idea description. This keeps the assessment focused on structure rather than storytelling.
CHECK ASSUMPTION FIT
BIKS checks whether assumptions around revenue, adoption, control, execution, and strategic focus reinforce each other or create hidden tension.
RECIEVE RULE BASED OUTPUT
The result is based on predefined scoring logic, context modifiers, and fixed feedback rules, not generative AI advice.

Design principles
No idea write-up required
BIKS does not depend on how well someone can describe or sell their idea. It uses structured answers to inspect the assumptions underneath.
Rule-based, not generative
Questions, scores, feedback, and result logic are based on predefined rules rather than AI-generated advice.
Evidence over conviction
BIKS separates confidence from evidence, because strong belief in an idea does not automatically mean market validation.
Contradictions matter
The scan focuses on whether assumptions reinforce each other or create structural tension across revenue, adoption, control, execution, and focus.
Why I built it
BIKS came from noticing that early-stage ideas often run into the same structural questions.
During Scriptopia and the imec.istart trajectory, the difficult questions were rarely about whether an idea sounded interesting. They were about use, adoption, evidence, willingness to pay, execution, and the gap between an appealing prototype and a viable product.
BIKS turns those recurring questions into a faster diagnostic structure: not a full business plan, not a coaching session and not a pitch review, but a first stress test for whether an idea’s assumptions hold together.
Current relevance
BIKS is currently a work-in-progress prototype and framework, not a validated business assessment tool.
It is included here as a project case in structured judgement, startup validation, product strategy, and translating repeated advisory questions into a compact diagnostic product.
